It's officially Autumn here in our part of the country and the weather went from being in the 90's to down in the 60's and 70's. Andy calls this "sweatshirt weather" and we are enjoying it so far. We recently carved 2 pumpkins here at the Moore house. Jenn and the kids did one during the day, and, then Daddy and the kids did one over the weekend. The adults used the knives (much to the dismay of all the children, especially Linus who threw a temper tantrum when the knife was out of his reach) and the kids enjoyed scooping up the center of the pumpkin and picking out the seeds to bake in the oven for a tasty treat! Jenn made pumpkin cakes for the kids to decorate and eat, and we had such a fun time!

We also recently visited a local canal park. Here our family rode the boat in the canal and then went on a hike in the woods near by...it was very fun and we learned all about the canal and why and how it was built etc. We even saw a turtle sunning itself on a log while riding on the boat! It went through a dark tunnel which Bronwen decided was not "the best part", and Linus and Jenn had an, um, interesting time trying to nurse while wearing life jackets.

Linus has his toe surgery on Tuesday morning, so if you remember, keep him in your prayers for no complications and quick/easy healing.

We've had a busy week here in the Moore house. Jenn's friend, Annette, and her 6 month old son, Brooksey, came to visit and we had a blast! We showed them Hershey Gardens and later hung out at our friends, the Laslo's house for dinner. The "little ones" Molly, Brooksey, and Linus had fun getting to know each other while "the big kids" Seb, Bronwen, Kiera and Gabriel had lots of fun playing together too. Annette has her own store on one of my favorate places to shop, Hyena Cart, at: http://hyenacart.com/biltmorebaby/ if you are in the market for some cute baby shirts, wool diaper covers or other nice hand made things, check it out!

Fall has come to central PA, and although the weather has been in the 80's and 90's (Al Gore is I'm sure having a field day with this situation), we've been enjoying October. Today we went hiking at our favorate local place and ended up in the water too! Here are a few pictures:

Jenn and the kids have gotten involved with a local homeschool group co-op called "INCH". They meet once a week with other parents and their children of all ages to learn and have fun together. Seb really enjoys playing with "the boys"....boys ranging in age from 8 to 15 years of age. Recently, 2 of the teenagers brought their skateboards (and helmets!) to a local park and Seb learned how to ride skateboard with their help. Needless to say, he was very upset when it was time to go home. Bronwen played jumprope with girls of all ages and her and a new 10 year old friend even put "ponies" (aka pony tails) in each others hair. Jenn enjoyed talking with homeschooling parents who have been doing it for years to get some tips and pointers, and of course, there is always lots of yummy food. :)

Whew! I forgot my password and had to go through all the crazy hoops in order to get logged onto blogger again, sorry!

The past month has been a whirlwind of activity....Andy and his dad re-did our porch (in mohogany, and it looks beautiful), Jenn got a spinal tap to rule out menengitis (ugh), and Linus celebrated his first birthday on the 20th! We spent that day at the Hands on House in Lancaster with Jodie, Frankie and Gigi, and had a blast! (Pictures to come eventually as Jodie got a pass to Hands on House as well)

We took a family trip to Hershey Park yesterday. Jenn won some tickets at the 5k race we recently did as a family (it was a very very slow walk......) and we used up our last 2 tickets (Seb and Bronwen have passes, and, Linus is free!). The first part of the day we spent at the new waterpark they built especially for the 100 year anniversary of Hershey Park. The kids had a blast and so did Jenn and Andy. (Jenn even went on the highest waterslide!) As you can tell, there were smiles all around. Then we moved to the "dry" part of the park and hung around there until it closed. We all slept good that night!

I am starting this blog on behalf of the Moore family for all of the wonderful people in our lives. The kids are growing quickly and we often hear "Where are pictures? We NEED MORE PICTURES" so here you go, more pictures, and, comentary to go along with the pictures.

(Here is Linus overlooking Hershey Park from by the Hershey Gardens...he is thinking "Next year maybe I can bribe the ride operators so I can go on the coasters too!" )

So on Monday the kids and Jenn took a hike to a local trail. They really enjoy the outdoors (except for "buggies" which freak Bronwen out in a big way) and climbing. Little do they know that climbing is in their genes since Mommy has hiked many a trail in her day, and done a lot of rock climbing as well. Here are Seb and Bronwen going up the "big mountain" that is off the trail at this particular place.

It was Seb has made it to the top of this particular "big mountain" before (photo) but, for the first time our sweet Bronwen made her way to the top! As you can see, it is pretty high, so we are impressed that our 3 1/2 year old "buggie hating" princess made it to the top, in sport sandles none-the-less. (We sadly have no pictures of her at the top, at that point Jenn was 1/2 way up the mountain, Linus in tow, making sure if she fell that somebody was there to help catch!)
